Mom and I are preparing to promote The Sassy Stampin Divas at the Daviess County Fair next week. The above photos are of a chipboard album that I completed. this album we will be displaying at the fair. As you can see, I used photos from earlier in the week and based this album around the "Cousins" theme. It turned out really cute, I think. We have been working on some paper bag albums too. I'll post them later on.

I was browsing a local photographer's website and found a really neat photo of a high school senior sitting in the middle of a chalk drawing. And that was the inspiration for my photos on the left.

So, I ran outside with my 4 year old and her sidewalk chalk, and had her write her name on the new blacktop and draw some other doodles.

She said "But mommy what if a car comes? I'll get ran over!" I told her "It's ok, I'll watch for cars." I never let my child play in the street so she was a little confused. When she was finished drawing I posed her in the road near her drawing and snapped a few shots. I wanted to get a little bit higher to get the shot so I had my ladder propped up on the street. Alexis was a bit fussy and wasn't really wanting to pose for me, so it took several shots and along with my pleas for cooperation.

Then I decided I would do the same using Alexis and her cousins. Now getting 2 four year olds and a 6 year old to cooperate all at the same time was quite a chore. I'm sure the neighbors thought I was crazy for sure! But overall I'm pleased with my results.

We have been working on this project for several months. It took a lot of organizing to get all of the information and photos together for this project but we are very pleased with the results.

We have a little less than 2 weeks before this photo book goes to print...I can't wait to see the final results!

Here is Alexis all hyped up about going trick or treating. She is only 3, but we had quite a debate about what she would be for Halloween. First it was a scarecrow, then we decided on a mummy, but in the end Alexis always wins, she wanted to be a black cat. Her black cat idea really turned out great! I'm not quite sure how she got the idea but I think it may have had something to do with Dora the Explorer. We took her to a halloween party and she won 3rd place for the best costume in her age group. We were so proud!

We have been out of our home due to the flooding in our small town in Elnora, Indiana. We are located very close to the white river and the river grew so high that it began spilling over the top of our levee despite all of our sandbagging efforts. We had to evacuate the town for a couple of days due to the flooding but we are back home and safe. Our home had no water damage but others in town did not fare as well.

It will take a couple of weeks to get life back to normal around here but we are all working together to cleanup. The smell in town is horrible (like fish and stagnant water) other than that the water is still falling and we are doing well.
